The Odyssey global box office surge
@rogers_jamieChristopher Nolan's The Odyssey is about to hit a massive milestone next week, crossing the $1.7 billion global box office mark to officially claim the #11 spot on the all-time highest-grossing list, finally passing InsideOut2. The film just brought in $27 million during its ninth weekend of international release across 82 markets, marking an 18.2% drop from the previous week but still showing insane resilience compared to Top Gun Maverick's eighth weekend where it pulled $16.4 million with a -14.6% slide. That performance pushes the international cumulative gross to $1.08 billion, and when you combine that with the $600.5 million domestic haul in the US, the total global cumulative gross now sits at $1.68 billion. Even with a production budget of $250 million excluding marketing costs, this movie has officially become Universal Pictures' biggest hit ever by overtaking Jurassic World's previous record run of $1.67 billion. With IMAX screenings extended in several markets through the end of SEP and legs remaining incredibly strong globally, projections indicate the final tally will land between $1.8 billion and $1.9 billion.
