The Sandman is currently the 9th most famous person in Adult Entertainment, a standing he has maintained since the previous cycle according to the iFANN Global Fame Rankings. This placement reflects his enduring status as a defining figure within the genre's history. While he does not hold a general global ranking in the iFANN Global Fame Rankings database, his specific dominance in this niche category underscores the lasting cultural footprint of his persona. The rankings capture attention across media coverage and consumption signals worldwide, ensuring that his legacy remains quantifiable even decades after his prime.

Fans of The Sandman do not operate under a single official name or organized collective identity. Instead, the audience consists of passionate ECW nostalgists who revere the promotion's gritty, anti-establishment spirit. Unlike modern superstars with dedicated fan clubs driving birthday billboards or charity drives, The Sandman's following is defined by a shared appreciation for chaotic hardcore wrestling rather than a structured movement. There are no documented fan-funded projects or specific rituals tied exclusively to his post-wrestling life. The community remains a loose network of enthusiasts who celebrate his beer-drinking, cigarette-smoking brawler image and the iconic Singapore cane entrances that defined an era. His time as a Chippendale's dancer before joining ECW serves as a piece of folklore often discussed in interviews, highlighting the eccentricity of his life without spawning a distinct subculture around that specific chapter.[แก้ไข]

Metallica's "Enter Sandman" was used as his entrance theme without permission by ECW; notably, WWE never utilized the song for him after the promotion closed. Fans loved his chaotic entrances so much that they would bring their own Singapore canes to shows, swinging them along with him during his walk through the crowd. Although he was not known for technical wrestling skill, his appeal relied entirely on charisma, intensity, and a willingness to bleed. It became a ritual for him to light a cigarette and drink a beer in the ring before any match even began. A defining moment in his rivalry with Raven involved spray-painting Sandman's back with the words "You're Not My Real Dad" on his son's shirt. Despite the violence displayed in the ring, those who knew him described him as soft-spoken and humble outside of it.

A widely retold story among fans concerns his brief employment as a Chippendale's dancer after being released from jail. This anecdote is frequently cited to illustrate the sheer eccentricity of his life, creating a stark contrast between the high-gloss male revue world and the violent brawls he would later engage in. While there were no specific viral incidents or crowd disruptions recorded during his time at the club, the revelation of this past chapter has become a staple of his biography, often told to newcomers to explain the depth of his "crazy life." This juxtaposition of a rough-and-tumble wrestler who once danced for a prestigious strip club remains a key part of the lore surrounding James Fullington.[แก้ไข]

iFANN currently estimates The Sandman's net worth at $1 Million as of 2026. His primary income sources stem from his professional wrestling career, which peaked during his ECW run in the 1990s when he earned a modest salary likely in the low six figures annually. ECW operated as a financially struggling promotion, meaning even top stars did not command huge paychecks. His short stints in WWE from 2006 to 2007 and TNA from 2007 to 2010 added some income but were not major financial drivers. After retiring, he generates revenue from convention appearances, autograph signings, and merchandise sales. He has not pursued significant business ventures or corporate endorsements. Unlike many WWE legends, he does not hold a lucrative legends contract or receive residuals from video games. His net worth has remained stable in recent years, supported largely by the nostalgia market for ECW.[แก้ไข]
