“RuPaul and Adam Shankman have crafted a gloriously ridiculous disaster movie that knows exactly what it is: a drag queen fever dream with a train.”

United States"The greatest trainwreck in herstory."
When downtrodden train stewardesses Tess and DeeDee get transferred from the grimy Stank Rail to the glamorous Glamazonian Express, they think their luck has finally turned. But a catastrophic supernatural storm called the Stormaganza sends the high-speed train hurtling toward Los Angeles with no brakes. The duo in coach must team up with snobby first-class attendants and a flamboyant president to survive the ride.
Directed by Adam Shankman, this campy action-comedy brings together seven RuPaul's Drag Race alumni in a joyful celebration of drag culture and female friendship. With a $20 million budget, the film prioritizes practical effects over CGI, using water tanks and wind machines for the storm sequences. The cast includes RuPaul as President Gagwell, Ginger Minj and Jujubee as the leads, plus Brooke Lynn Hytes, Symone, Latrice Royale, and more.

Best friends Tess and DeeDee have spent years working miserable shifts on the Stank Rail, a rundown train line where rude passengers and broken systems are the norm. Their days are a dreary cycle of cleaning up spills and dodging complaints. But everything changes when they are unexpectedly transferred to the Glamazonian Express, a state-of-the-art high-speed train that represents everything the Stank Rail is not: glamorous, efficient, and filled with celebrity clientele.
On board, they encounter the haughty first-class crew led by Amber, a perfectionist head attendant who looks down on the new arrivals. The train's most important passenger is President Gagwell, a quirky and eccentric leader aboard for a high-profile publicity tour. Other passengers include the overly enthusiastic influencer Ayshleiygh, the mysterious and glamorous Barbra, and the anxious but well-meaning Alli. Meanwhile, on the ground, frazzled train control operator Donna Dusk and hapless technician Cal try to manage operations from the station.
The central conflict ignites when a catastrophic weather event called the Stormaganza threatens to derail the Glamazonian Express. The train's automated systems fail, and the onboard safety protocols prove useless against the storm's fury. Tess and DeeDee, initially dismissed as lowly coach attendants, must overcome their insecurities and the snobbery of the first-class crew to work together. They discover that the train's conductor, Conductor Davenport, has locked himself in the engine room, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves.
As the train speeds toward disaster, the mismatched group must navigate a series of increasingly absurd obstacles: malfunctioning doors, flooded compartments, and a runaway luggage cart that nearly sends someone flying off the train. Tess and DeeDee use their Stank Rail street smarts to MacGyver solutions, while Amber slowly learns to respect the coach girls. President Gagwell delivers motivational speeches that are equal parts inspiring and ridiculous. Meanwhile, Train Traffic Controller Guy Branum's character frantically tries to reroute trains and coordinate rescue efforts from the control center, only to be thwarted by budget cuts and bureaucratic red tape.
The film builds toward a high-stakes climax where the group must decide whether to try to stop the train manually, jump off, or find another way to survive the Stormaganza. The narrative explores themes of female friendship, class divides, found family, and the idea that true glamour comes from within.

While Stop! That! Train! leans heavily into its campy premise and drag queen spectacle, its heartwarming message of friendship and self-acceptance nearly derails under a chaotic script that prioritizes gags over coherence.

“The cast is having so much fun that it's infectious, even when the plot derails into absurdity. Ginger Minj and Jujubee are a comedic dream team.”

“It's a mess, but it's a fabulous, rhinestone-encrusted mess that will leave you smiling despite yourself. The lip-sync finale alone is worth the ticket price.”

“At its best, Stop! That! Train! is a joyful celebration of drag culture and female friendship. At its worst, it's a bloated, overlong Saturday Night Live sketch.”
