Reborn!

Reborn! (Japanese: Katekyō Hitman Reborn!) centers on Tsunayoshi Sawada, a timid and academically failing middle-school student who is chosen to become the tenth boss of the Vongola Famiglia, a powerful Italian Mafia dynasty. To prepare him, the Vongola send their most formidable hitman—a baby named Reborn—to train Tsuna in leadership, combat, and responsibility. Reborn uses a Dying Will Bullet that, when shot, causes Tsuna to enter a desperate, hyper-focused state to accomplish any task, after which he emerges naked and humiliated. The early volumes focus on comedic training and daily life with an expanding cast of eccentric guardians, allies, and rival mafia families. As the story progresses, it shifts into action-heavy arcs involving the Vongola's internal power struggles, the retrieval of the Vongola Rings, and battles against the Varia assassination squad and the future-oriented Millefiore Family.

The manga is written and illustrated by Akira Amano, who was born in 1973 in Aichi Prefecture. Before Reborn!, Amano created the short series MONOPOLE and St. Dragon Girl. After Reborn! concluded, Amano launched ēlDLIVE (2013–2018) and later Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective (2020–present). The series was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from May 2004 to November 2012, spanning 409 chapters collected into 42 tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released in Japan on July 2, 2004; the final volume on January 4, 2013. Viz Media licensed the manga for English release in North America, publishing the first 16 volumes between June 2006 and July 2010 before discontinuing.

An anime television series adaptation by Artland aired on TV Tokyo from October 7, 2006 to September 25, 2010, totaling 203 episodes. It covers the Daily Life Arc, Varia Arc, and Future Arc but does not adapt the final two arcs. The anime was licensed by Viz Media for streaming and later by Discotek Media for DVD release in North America. Multiple video games were released for Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Wii. A stage adaptation titled Katekyō Hitman Reborn! the STAGE ran in Tokyo and Osaka in 2019, with a sequel in 2020. As of 2022, Reborn! has over 30 million copies in circulation worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump history.[แก้ไข]
