Shamar Williams Cox adopted his stage name by combining Low, referencing his relaxed persona, with Shimmy, a nickname derived from his birth name. He produces a significant portion of his own music and is known for wearing vintage oversized sportswear and bucket hats. Fans frequently make TikTok edits of his songs, especially 3am, and he has never publicly confirmed any tattoos. A pivotal moment in his career occurred when he secured a feature on Drake's track Habibti, an event highlighted in an interview where he discussed his reaction to joining such a major release. This collaboration is often cited as a defining chapter in his rapid rise. Another notable milestone was his performance of Pretty Brown for the COLORS Series, which showcased his vocal range to a wider audience. The release of his album Pretty Girlz Run the World further cemented his status, featuring tracks like Angel Reese and the title cut. While these events are documented as key releases and performances, they have not yet spawned the kind of crowd disruptions or legendary anecdotes that define other artists' lore.
