The Lamborghini Urus, unveiled in December 2017 as a 2018 model, is the Italian marque's first SUV under Volkswagen Group ownership and only its second ever, following the LM002 that ended production in 1993. The Urus Performante, introduced in 2022, sheds 104 pounds through carbon fiber components and boosts power to 657 horsepower, improving 0-60 mph time to 3.3 seconds.

The Urus has been a commercial triumph, consistently accounting for over 60% of Lamborghini's annual sales. In 2023, the company delivered 10,112 vehicles, with the Urus being the best-seller. This success helped Lamborghini achieve consistent profitability for the first time in its history. The model has also reshaped the luxury SUV landscape, inspiring competitors like Ferrari to enter the segment with the Purosangue.
