Beyond these facts, the mythology of 'El Niño' is built on verified legends that fans retell with pride. The story of his nickname, coined by his father for his green eyes and small stature, remains the foundational tale of his resilience. His status as a clutch performer is cemented by the 2014 World Cup hat-trick against Croatia, a moment so impactful it reportedly shut down streets in Guadalajara in celebration. Another pillar of his lore is the dramatic narrative of his return to Guadalajara, viewed by supporters as a restoration of balance after conquering Europe. Even recent developments, like his absence from the 2026 World Cup, have sparked new waves of discussion among fans debating the end of an era for the all-time leading scorer of the Mexican national team.[แก้ไข]
