Gunna's fanbase doesn't have one official name, but his followers have carved out their own informal identities from his personal branding. They call themselves 'Shady Babies,' 'Slimes,' and 'Gunna Wunnas,' terms drawn from his Instagram bio and the broader YSL lexicon. His 'CAPITAL P' hand gesture and phrase have become a fan signal, and the 'WUNNA' chant is a staple at his live shows. Fans are highly active on TikTok, where his music has soundtracked over 640,000 videos, and they coordinate streaming pushes and hashtag campaigns around his releases.

On the fame front, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated Gunna, but as of August 2026, he does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, neither in the Global Top 1,000 nor in any Top-100 scope list. That means no numeric rank or score is available, but his reach is undeniable: millions of followers across Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, and YouTube, and a fanbase that rallied around his comeback after legal troubles. His run club, inspired by his own transformation, has become a genuine community activity, with fans lacing up together.[แก้ไข]

Gunna started making music at 15 and released his first mixtape, Hard Body, under the name Yung Serg in 2013. He attended four different high schools, and the shooting death of one of his brothers forced him to grow up quickly. He met Young Thug through mutual friend Keith Troup in 2015, and appeared on Young Thug's Jeffery mixtape alongside Gucci Mane and Travis Scott before signing to YSL. He opened a free grocery market at his former middle school through a partnership with Goodr. Despite industry backlash after his 2022 plea deal, he continued to achieve commercial success with A Gift & a Curse (2023) and subsequent albums. As of late 2025, his social media following includes 6.0 million on Instagram, 2.6 million on TikTok, 10.4 million on Spotify, 3.4 million on YouTube, 2.8 million on X, and 2.0 million on Facebook.

One of the most retold stories in his career is the YSL RICO case and the fallout with Young Thug. Arrested in May 2022, Gunna accepted an Alford plea in December 2022, maintaining his innocence while acknowledging prosecutors had enough evidence. The rift with Young Thug became public in May 2026, when Thug said he 'can't look at Gunna the same' even though they 'love each other to death.' Fans still debate the plea, and it's a defining moment in his narrative.

Another iconic moment is the viral success of 'fukumean' in 2023, which became a summer anthem and a TikTok phenomenon, symbolizing his comeback after legal troubles.[แก้ไข]
