Damion Poitier is a name that surfaces in two very different corners of pop culture: the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Payday gaming community. As of August 2026, iFANN's Global Fame Engine has evaluated his profile, but he does not currently hold a placement in the published rankings, neither the Global Top 1,000 nor any Top-100 scope list. His fame is real, but it's a fame that lives in specific niches rather than broad mainstream recognition.

That niche fame is built on a foundation of devoted, if diffuse, fandom. There is no formal name for his fanbase, no organized community with its own identity. Instead, his supporters are a mix of Marvel completionists who know his five-second Thanos cameo, Payday 2 players who have spent hundreds of hours with his character Chains, and Arrowverse viewers who recognize him as Goldface. His social media following, around 38,000 on Instagram, reflects this modest but engaged audience. Fans express their appreciation through individual tributes: edit videos, cosplay, and social media posts. There are no documented fan campaigns, charity drives, or coordinated events in his name, but the passion is there, just less visible.

What sets Poitier apart is the legend that has grown around his brief, uncredited Marvel moment. That single post-credits scene has become a recurring topic of fan fascination, with discussions resurfacing every few years as new MCU fans discover the recasting. It's a story that speaks to the strange alchemy of fame, how a career stuntman can become a footnote in cinematic history, remembered and retold by fans who never even knew his name at the time.[แก้ไข]

Poitier was the first actor to physically portray Thanos on screen, though the role required so much prosthetic makeup that he was nearly unrecognizable. His appearance in The Avengers was uncredited, and many fans did not learn his name until years later. His voice and motion-capture work for Chains in Payday 2 has made that character one of the most recognizable in the heist-game genre. The role has continued through Payday 3, making it one of the longest-running voice performances in gaming. Poitier's background in martial arts directly informed Chains's physicality, especially the character's heavy, deliberate movements. Despite his MCU connection, Poitier has never met Josh Brolin, who took over the Thanos role. He is known for being intensely private, with almost no personal information available in interviews or online. His social media is focused almost entirely on career updates and Payday promotions.

One of the most enduring legends from his career is the story of his Thanos audition. In a SlashFilm interview, Poitier revealed that he initially believed he had been cast as Super-Skrull, a massive Fantastic Four villain, rather than Thanos. The mix-up adds a layer of irony to an already legendary cameo, he was playing one of Marvel's biggest cosmic threats without even knowing it.

Another fan-favorite chapter is his crossover into the DC universe. After introducing the MCU's ultimate villain, Poitier joined the Arrowverse as Goldface, a Green Lantern villain, on The Flash. The role, which he played in 2019 and reprised in 2022, has become a favorite trivia point for fans who enjoy the symmetry of an actor bridging two rival comic book worlds.[แก้ไข]

iFANN's editorial team currently estimates Damion Poitier's net worth at $1 million. This figure reflects a career built on steady, reliable work rather than blockbuster paydays. His primary income streams are acting salaries, voice acting residuals, and stunt work fees. The bulk of his earnings likely stems from his long-running role as Chains in the Payday franchise, which has generated revenue through game sales and downloadable content since Payday 2 launched in 2013. His uncredited cameo as Thanos in The Avengers was a one-time fee, not a source of ongoing residuals. He has also earned paychecks for stunt and motion-capture work on films like Captain America: Civil War and The Purge: Election Year, as well as television appearances. No specific salary figures are public, and he has no known endorsement deals, business ventures, or real estate holdings. His net worth has remained relatively stable over recent years, reflecting a steady but not high-profile career in action and genre entertainment.[แก้ไข]
