Lady Gaga explains why she can't say anything bad about Taylor Swift, citing a 2014 moment at the AMAs where they sat together. Swift told her directly that she loved 'Art Pop' and 'Applause', which was my favorite song too. Later, while Swift was doing a photoshoot, Gaga's stylist called to say she was blasting 'Art Pop' loudly and dancing around. That consistency between what Swift said to her face versus behind her back is exactly why Lady Gaga likes her.

Do you know her at all? You know, I've met her a few times, and I can't say anything bad about her because what she doesn't know is that, so when we were, where were we? I was at like the AMAs or something. Her and I were sitting next to each other, and she goes, oh my gosh, I love art pop, and I love applause, and applause is my favorite song, and I was thinking, yeah, yeah, yeah. But then, my buddy called me. She was doing a shoot, and he was styling her for a shoot, And he goes, Taylor Swift is in here blasting art pop so loud. That's right. And she is dancing and she's posing. And I said to myself, I like this girl. You know why? She's not a phony. Because she said the same thing to my face that she said behind my back. So I like that. So we like her. Yeah, I like her.
