Jacob Chase on INSIDIOUS rating

    โดย Anjali Filmi: Insidious

Director Jacob Chase says INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER didn't need to be rated R to be scary. He argues that making a PG-13 movie requires restraint, which involves hiding more and showing less. Chase believes this approach of showing less can make supernatural horror films scarier. "The restraint you need to make a PG-13 movie actually requires you to hide more and show less. I think that can be scarier a lot of times in a supernatural horror film." #Insidious

I think PG-13 movies can be just as scary, if not more scary, than R-rated films. Obviously, you know, I love a little blood in a movie too, but ultimately, like, the restraint you have to have to make a PG-13 movie actually requires you to, like, sort of hide more and show less, and I think that can be scarier a lot of times in a supernatural horror film. So yeah, there were some scenes that were challenging to sort of get down to the PG-13 rating, but ultimately it was really worth it, I think, because the movie's at its scariest. I had such a good time on this and I definitely do have ideas for what where I'd want to take this family and this franchise next. We'll see what happens. Hopefully the fans turn up and want to see more of Insidious.
