HHS Sec. Bobby Kennedy went at it with Dana Bash on CNN's State of the Union. He says he's trying to find out why autism is rising, and when Bash brought up DNA, he shot back that genes don't cause it, it's environmental. predisposed to have an autistic child? Are you doing both? Yeah, but Dana, you probably don't understand this because you're not a scientist, but genes don't cause epidemics. I understand. Genes, epidemics. They provide a vulnerability. But you need an environmental exposure. That's what I'm asking. Are you studying the environmental exposure? We're looking at all the different environmental exposures, but your statement, you have been fooled. YOUR STATEMENT THAT THIS HAS BEEN STUDYED IS NOT TRUE. IT'S CATCHOLARICALLY NOT TRUE. IT IS CONSIDERED. IT IS CONSIDERED. CONSIDERED BY WHO? BY EVERY SCIENTIST WHO HAS STUDIED THIS. THAT IS NOT TRUE. I CAN GIVE YOU HUNDREDS OF SCIENTISTS WHO HAVE LOOKED AT THIS AND SAY, WHY IS IT? DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE ARE GETTING? IT'S THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES.
