Rafael Stone and Ime Udoka want Kevin Durant's minutes trimmed for the season. KD's answer at Monday's Media Day was basically: why would we do that? His case, in his own words: he's better on the court, the team is better when he's on the court, and the training is for the long haul, for playing 48 minutes a night. Classic KD. The mileage backs up the concern. He was second in the league in total minutes last season with 2,840, behind only his Rockets teammate Amen Thompson, who led everyone with 2,953. And the belief underneath it all is that Houston's chances of winning are at their best whenever he's out there. That confidence and edge are exactly what the Rockets signed him for. Slowing down isn't on his mind. Competing is, and so is pushing Houston, H-Town, to another level.
