SDU Soft Robotics worm-inspired robot
Bro Danish scientists at SDU Soft Robotics built a limbless soft robot with inflatable muscles and flexible kirigami skin. It crawls, turns, rotates, and avoids obstacles via sensors and controlled body movements. The design uses two air-filled sections that stretch and squeeze while the folded skin grips at the back and slips at the front. This strat lets it slide forward as the rear stays put. Such bots could squeeze into collapsed buildings for search and rescue or crawl through narrow pipes for inspection and exploration.
