Israel reportedly warned the U.S. that Iran might attempt to kill Trump as he departed Turkey. The CIA reviewed this intelligence but maintained 'low confidence' in the threat assessment. Regardless, the Secret Service avoided taking risks. Trump quietly switched aircraft in Ankara. He was driven across the airport tarmac inside a catering truck before boarding a military jet for Britain, accompanied by F-16s. Some U.S. intelligence officials suspect Israel shared the warning partly to shape Trump’s views on Iran and Turkey, rather than solely for his protection.
