His mother and sisters had zero interest in the game, so every night at dinner his father would push them to come watch him play. So Ronaldo just kept scoring. The night his father came home and said “Cristiano scored three goals! It was incredible! You have to come see him play!” things finally shifted. Before every match, Ronaldo would glance at the touchline and see only his dad standing there alone, until one warm-up when he looked over and spotted his mother and sisters in the stands. They weren’t clapping or shouting, just huddled together waving like they were at a parade, clearly never having been to a football match before.
