Bangladesh Hindu population decline 2000-2014

The Hindu population share in Bangladesh has been steadily declining over the past two decades. In 2000, Hindus made up 9.3% of the country's population, but by 2014 that figure had dropped to 8.3%. The year-by-year breakdown shows a consistent downward trend: 9.2% in 2001, 9.1% in both 2002 and 2003, 9.0% in 2004, 8.9% in 2005, 8.8% in 2006 and 2007, 8.7% in 2008, 8.6% in 2009 and 2010, 8.5% in 2011, 8.4% in 2012 and 2013, and finally 8.3% in 2014.
