A truly massive ruby weighing 11,000 carats has turned up in Myanmar. It stands a good chance of being among the biggest gem-quality rubies located anywhere. The large stone was found close to Mogok, that storied mining district often referred to as the Valley of Rubies and known for yielding some of the finest examples.
